He was generally positive for in the first few appointments—going through his spiel and talking about his family to break the ice (in hindsight, we should have continued to keep our guard up). When the prognosis to my cancer (in which he does not specialize in) turned more severe, he was cold, awful bedside manner, gave little hope—and gave no options, not even other referrals.The insecurity he holds in what he doesn’t know is clear and dangerous. We left in despair and informed our Godsend empathic and specialist surgeon who is highly regarded in the field; he recommended we move our treatment to the “pros”. I have reached nearly no evidence of disease with aggressive treatment by surgeon and oncologists who are leaders in the field (seeking all referrals on my own). Skip this small minded oncologist who will not notify you if your cancer is out of his league. Don’t listen to his words and keep hope—find a specialist!
