Patient Reviews

Had an appointment for eval of varicose vein treatment options, during eval Dr.Jen states that I didn't have varicose veins but instead spider veins (and treatment wouldn't be covered by insurance) then stated "Let's do an ultrasound to be sure." I was adamant that I would/could note proceed with treatment if it wasn't varicose veins due to the cost. There was an sonographer onsite and the the ultrasound was completed immediately. Indeed I had no varicose veins, only spider veins. My insurance was billed $699 (for the ultrasound) with my portion being $531.73. My issue is that I was painfully clear that cost was a concern, the ultrasound could/should have been ordered outpatient (requiring insurance pre-approval) and/or at the very least there should have been transparency regarding the cost.
