After a recent hospitalization that almost killed me, my labs showed an overactive virus that suppresses my system as a whole, and an autoimmune disease. I was referred to a rheumatologist to diagnose and treat the autoimmune disease and issues while being treated to control the viral symptoms. This was one of the worst scheduling experiences I have ever had. My primary care sent my referral and labs to them several times, to several different fax numbers, as requested. Everything showed "received" on our end each time. This went on for almost a month. and every time I would call their office to see if it was received or being reviewed, the answer was no and I was met with such unprofessionalism, rudeness and unwillingness to resolve whatever the issue was and get me on their schedule. When I finally felt out of options to get in with Dr. Bellor, I asked them if they could call my doctor to resolve directly because at that point I just couldn't comprehend why this was so difficult. The response I got from them was "We don't make outgoing calls" (This is an office, not a call center)... So I'm not sure what would keep them from making a call, especially when the patient and provider have done all that they have been asked to do, with no resolve. Just an AWFUL experience, and a waste of a month's worth of time trying get well and start treating my newly diagnosed life-altering disease. I have chosen a new rheumatologist, and am hoping to get in sooner than later. I'm just hoping I don't end up back in the hospital, before I can finally see a doctor.
