I went to go and see Dr. Vincent for possible seasonal allergies because she had really puffy eyes in the morning. Dr. Vincent stated that it could be allergies, but sometimes this gets misdiagnosed as it could be an underlying kidney issue. I will admit, I thought she was crazy. She asked for a urine sample, and my daughter showed that she had a lot of blood and protein in her urine. Dr. Vincent immediately spoke to us very calmly about this, and wanted us to go for blood work and ultrasound. We went immediately. The next day, she called to follow up and the eye swelling did get worse. The labs were consistent with an underlying kidney issue, and she had already sent up a nephrology appt for me, and was able to get us in the next day! This is unheard of! She took it upon herself to get us in. I am just a dad, and sometimes I shrug things off, and this was a wakeup call. If it weren't for Dr. Vincent, I don't know what would have happened. I am so thankful to her!
