I was told at my appointment me there was nothing more could be done post-op but reprogram my stimulator. The rechargeable battery that was implanted burnt my skin to try to recharge it. It’s has been dead for almost two years because it is too painful to recharge and leaves burn marks on my skin. My Medtronic rep told the doctor burning was a potential side effect. The doctor ignored her advice, misdiagnosed me, referred to the suggestions from other specialists as bogus or voodoo and refused to work with other specialists. For almost 2 years my stimulator has had a dead battery because of ego. When other specialists told him the burning was a legit side effect other patients have indeed experienced, he then finally wanted to help me out of embarrassment.
