Patient Reviews
Jan 31, 2026
One colon and rectal surgeon said that scar tissue from a previous abdominal surgery and my age (83), would make a rectopexy a high-risk surgery for me. He said it would have to be open surgery, not laparoscopic; and there was a risk of death.Another surgeon said there are risks and they could only know what to do when the surgery was in progress. Then I visited Dr. Jeffrey Milsom. He looked at my records, examined me and said, “I don’t see any problem here. Surgery for you won't be that complicated.”Dr. Milsom did the surgery laparoscopically, the problem was corrected, and my life has changed for the better, the best it's been, actually, in a few years. If 'living' is being with family, doing what you love to do, feeling well, then I can say without hyperbole, Dr. Milsom saved my life.Prior to surgery, I spent eight months of pain (most days a '10') supine on the sofa. After a brief convalescence of a couple of weeks after the surgery, I was out and about with no discomfort.
