I'm posting on behalf of my friend who is visually impaired. Due to some calcium buildup on his cornea, he went to see Dr. Nottage. He chose her because the eye doctor who used to own the practice had been excellent. From the very beginning, his experience with Dr. Nottage was horrible. She was curt, rude, and refused to answer his questions in a meaningful way. She didn't explain anything she did, despite his questions. All of this, he was willing to tolerate as long as she was competent at what she does. Unfortunately, when she removed the calcium, she scraped his cornea and caused scarring (without telling him). She was also negligent in providing him with advice on the steroids he takes to prevent his body from rejecting his cornea transplant (at one point she told him to stop taking it, which could have been disastrous, and at another point, she told him to take it). He has since started going to Dr. Price's office not far away and, in his words, the difference has been "night and day."

Not impressed. The nursing staff literally preface the appointment with what will happen, very regimented. She had zero time for any type of backstory, and she didn’t have the full 18 month history of the surgery/trouble as we were transferred to her. At one point I had to sit back and wipe the tears off of my face due to my very light sensitive eye dripping and she said very bluntly “put your chin back up here, I’m not done”. Terrible bedside manners. This appointment is for me, not for her. Afterwards the other nurse explained that she’s very to the point and no chit chat due to the number of patients she sees.
