I saw Dr. McCuaig a couple years ago and have spent those years mulling over just how bad the experience was. He asked what I was studying in school (government), made a joke about a running candidate and said he hoped I wasn’t supporting them (I was). Discouraged many birth control options. Told me my pcos was gone (it wasn’t and there’s no way he could have deduced that at that point). I came in to talk about pain during penetrative sex. He told me that my partners might be too big for me?? I had been with the same one partner for years. My concerns were valid and should have been addressed as such. He also was adamant that I be vigilant about diabetes despite recent blood tests showing normal levels. I never went back to him and this experience held me back from seeking out another obgyn for a while. While he might be a good obgyn for someone, I certainly don’t recommend anyone who is wary/nervous of obgyn’s to see him because his bedside manner was atrocious and belittling.
