Patient Reviews
Jun 23, 2023
My personal experience with Dr. Buchalter exceeded all my expectations and then some!! Please let me explain: Although I have worked in the healthcare field for many many years, and was well aware of his exceptional reputation, I had no idea that when I started this process with Dr. Buchalter that I was going to have such a (crazy to say this) thorough & pleasant experience from beginning to end. I had a Right Total Hip Replacement on Thursday 5/25/23 & although I do know it’s NOT typical, by Saturday the 25th (2 days later), I was out tag sale shopping… I was not out for hours but I was taking it slow with a friend driving from place to place and enjoying my afternoon out!! By Monday, I was NOT using a walker or cane and I was quite mobile even going up & down stairs which I have in my home. I was so grateful to have had this surgery because I was in such a great deal of pain prior to it & he told me after seeing the MRI & x-rays that my arthritis was quite severe and he understood why I was in so much discomfort and pain. When I went for my 1st post op visit with no cane/walker and wearing a pair of jeans he was quite surprised and appeared to be very happy!! I do want to mention once again that I don’t believe this is always the case with many people but I am a VERY petite person: I’m 5’ 1/2” & approximately 92-94lbs I believe this helped a great deal BUT the biggest factor in my recovery process was the fact that I was cautious but walked as much as I possibly could day in & day out! I would climb up and down steps slowly until I was tired but didn’t “kill” myself when doing so and I stretched as much as I could without hurting myself or anything that was done to me regarding the surgery that was performed!! I listened to EVERYTHING the doctor and the PA’s recommended for me to do and I feel like I’m at about 90% back to normal!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Buchalter and his team for “fixing” me and making me feel like my old self again- 1 month post-op!!
