I tried to make an appt as a new patient but the office staff was a turn off. I'll go elsewhere. I have a straightforward issue (cracked a tooth and need a crown). My regular dentist is out of network and it was going to be $$$$ so I looked for an in-network dentist on the Aetna site and found Dr. Nelson. I thought it would be an easy process to make an appt and get a crown. I was wrong. The soonest appt they offered was a month out (fine) but that's only an "examination" because the doctor wants to make his "own assessment." Seriously?! It's a cracked tooth! I have x-rays, a referral and two working eyeballs. It seems more likely the unnecessary, extra visit is simply a money grab for more revenue. There's no logical reason why someone should not be able to make an appt for the crown. Even if the doctor believes he needs to "assess" first, why can't that be done in the same appt. as the crown? Bill padding. Plain and simple
