In August of 2022 I filed a complaint with Brown Medicine regarding a poor interaction and care from Doctor Jonathan A. Leviss. During my visit Leviss questioned me regarding my owning of weapons. Upon stating I will not answer nor complete the questionnaire regarding this topic, as it is my right to legally posses weapons without comment from my doctor, he insisted on trying to obtain answers causing extreme alarm as to what his agenda is. To top it off he spent his entire visit questioning me about weapons that he failed to even provide basic care. He never even bothered to complete an exam of me. To me this is a blatant disregard for the oath he has sworn to uphold. Due to this poor interaction I decided to I file a complaint with Brown Medicine. With a promise from the office management that this would not occur again I decided to continue care with Leviss. Today March 6, 2023 I returned for a follow-up regarding a medicine that he prescribed. Please note that he prescribed this without justification nor ensuring the patient even understands why. Upon Leviss entering the examination room he immediately began berating me regarding a missed appointment and that if I miss three I am out of the practice. Leviss then questioned why I had missed the appointment. I responded that I missed the appointment because of him and that I had filed a complaint with Brown Medicine due to his behavior and lack of care. Leviss immediately responded that he was ending the visit and walked out of the room. This occurred abruptly and it became very apparent that he upset that I had spoken negatively about him. With these two events, I truly his ability to provide adequate care to his patients. He has yet to provide care to me. He has no regard for others and their opinions or rights and, and as it is apparent in my case, he feels he has the right to prohibit care based on his personal opinions. Additionally, he prescribed a medicine, and he has failed to provide an adequate follow up to ensure my health is monitored. It is very apparent that Leviss is not focused on the role of providing care to patients. His focus is clearly on himself and what he views as right or wrong. This also brings a concern about the operations of Brown Medicine. Where did my original complaint go? Today while a assistant office manager was professional and extremely helpful, it was clear her manager was not interested in addressing the concern. The office has failed to provide me any care by any member of their team. The also promised a call back today to set me up with another Dr. and that still has yet to happen.
