I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Burns and my vasectomy. She was personable, straightforward, and informative during my intake assessment. During the procedure, her bedside manner and technical ability were both masterful. Local anesthetic always makes me really woozy (no matter where it is) and she worked hard to use about one-third of the amount she normally does and I STILL FELT NOTHING. It was only afterward that I realized looking back how she navigated a conversation with me in a way that both kept me informed as to what she was doing, kept her aware of if I was going to pass out (I didn’t!), AND kept me distracted enough that I didn’t freak out about the fact that all this was happening while she cut my scrotum open and sewed it back up again! Just really, really impressive. If you’re thinking about getting a vasectomy, I can’t recommend Dr. Burns enough. (And again, just to clarify: my wooziness was because of my reaction to medication. Nothing she did.)
