I found Dr Duarte after almost 15 years and 3 different Dr's who just wanted to keep giving me meds, doing injections, and basically just being a 'number' to them. After our first meeting, I felt hope. He promised me that he was in this battle to get my life back and he'd do whate6he could to help me. He did review exrays and notes from my previous pain management & other Dr's. I had several injections, but they didn't help for long. Then he sent me for an MRI for more thorough insight. It was the next visit when he'd received the results, that changed my life. By the look on his face, I though I had cancer again (I'm a 2x survivor). I said, 'Just tell me, please!'! He proceeded to tell me that I had an extremely rare condition and was only the 67th person in the US to have been diagnosed with a Dorsal Aracnoid Web or DAW. There weren't a lot of Dr's knowledgeable about it, but through a miracle found one at UTSW. Now I no longer need a wheelchair, walker, or cane! Best Dr. EVER!
