After trying to go over my history and feeling rushed, the Dr. started by questioning my autoimmune disease and said “what makes you think you have an autoimmune disease at your age?” I have a rheumatomologist and have been treated for over five years. He did a couple tests and was able to refer me to another specialist based on findings (I appreciate this) but he mentioned giving a couple IV medications which I consneted to but were never ordered so not administered. It felt like I was an inconvenience to him that evening. I sat in a cold exam room with bright lights for about an hour waiting for results (Im a nurse and understand waiting) but there were no other patients in the ED that night and I wasn't even brought the blanket I had asked for. If I wasn't in the medical field, I would have been so confused when I left about diagnostic findings.
