Dr. Kelyani Mehta, nephrologist, put my dad on dialysis due to kidney failure when we took him to the hospital about 3 years ago even though she could have preserved his kidneys. She was the reason he was subjected to a multitude of dialysis session for months when we learned from his current nephrologist that my dad does not need dialysis and should not be subjected to it. Even after we told her that his current nephrologist told us my dad does not need dialysis she kept insisting that he did. My dad has been off dialysis since we changed his care away from Dr. Mehta for over one year now and in fact his kidney condition is improving and remaining very stable with the care he is currently receiving. Do not trust doctors like this when they tell you you need treatment especially when it comes to treatment like dialysis where the doctor and the dialysis center are getting a lot of money for each session of dialysis. They are incentivized to keep you on dialysis. Dr. Mehta's treatment falls far below the standard of care for patients and it's immensely disappointing that is caring for other patients in the community.
