My aunt was admitted to the facility that Dr. Lee is a physician at, PAMS Corpus Christi. He attends to patient physical therapy. Just like any other family of a patient who isn’t getting the proper attention, treatment and compassion, I stepped in to oversee her care, which involved overhearing his consults with him in her room, which were brief and unhelpful as well as requesting dated records of his notes on her condition and proposed treatment plan. My aunt was admitted with MERSA that could well be sepsis. She lives in constant pain and must take several pain medications in order to do routine things like shower and walk around the house. Not only did the staff at this facility not communicate with each other regarding a set schedule for medication to be delivered so that she could be in a position to walk, but Dr. Lee neglected to provide customized care for her situation. When she was in pain and could not make it to the facility gym, he called her “lazy” and said that her lack of progress regarding her mobility was her fault because she “didn’t put in the work”. Not only was his blatant disregard for her unique situation ignored, but having her go to the facility gym in her current condition puts other patients at risk as her infected leg leaks fluid constantly and has the potential to contaminate shared equipment and surfaces. However, that did not seem to matter to him as long as he was checking a box of “patient failed to make an effort” to cover his negligence. Dr. Lee clearly uses a template for physical therapy amongst all patients, even if those patients require special treatment and care. If you’re in Corpus Christi and need a physical therapist, do NOT see Dr. Lee or go to PAMS Corpus Christi. I will be reviewing this Dr. and facility across other health boards and state agencies. If you, or a family member has experienced neglect and incompetence from either one, please review them as well, so I can reach out to you directly.
