When I first saw Dr. Silver, I was so relieved she seemed so committed to excellent care. Then, I had more interactions with her, and she fell short. She spent more time outside of my exam room, talking loudly about her life with a staff member, than she did in my appointment. She didn’t even examine me or schedule lab work, and she was more concerned with lab work that was almost half a decade older than the current ones. She was interviewed discussing how she was excited for the challenge of complex etiology and the patients who are more difficult to diagnose- their illness is hidden, but that was not the case, not even remotely. What’s worse is, I was undiagnosed, and not only did she write me off, but she shared her opinion with my other doctors, which set me up for more of a struggle. She missed that I both have a rare cancer and have been diagnosed with small mouth syndrome and a swallowing disorder as part of scleroderma. She needs to be more careful with her patients’ health.
