My mother, age 84, sought treatment from Dr. Walsh who entered the exam room having made up her mind and accused my mother of doctor hopping. Treatment of older adults as 'less than' among doctors is something I've seen firsthand and Dr. Walsh is another upsetting example. My mother was not doctor hopping - she was in pain and looking for someone to help her. Dr Walsh not only told my mom 'I can't help you' but made her feel terrible for having sought care from someone who could help her. She criticized my mom's choice to go to urgent care and maligned their diagnosis. Had she looked at the notes she would have seen that other doctors reached the same diagnosis. My mom went to her for physical pain and instead of taking pain away, she made an elderly women feel psychological and emotional pain. We will never go back.
