Met him for first time today, desperately needing my thyroid prescription renewed. My regular doctor left Beaumont in August for private practice. She said she'd be back in business in September. Now it's November, and she's had to leave to take care of family. Even though I'm nearly out of meds now, the Beaumont practice she just left wanted me to wait until the end of January 2023 to see a doctor to get my thyroid medicine refilled! Talk about rigid, uncaring, inflexible rules! Dr. A. followed protocol to renew my prescription (took a blood test on the spot), and I'll go in for a complete physical in the near future. He certainly was more responsive than Beaumont. By the way, their new name is Beaumont Corecare. They can keep that new name as far as I'm concerned. They do not care. They're a perfect example of the corporatization of health care.
