Hello, I was seen in the ER back in Oct., 2019--Back and Chest pain with a prior history of heart attack, hypertension, cholesterol, overweight, etc. I saw the ER physician for 10 minutes and a 'stat' ekg revealed abnormal changes. My blood values( Troponin) that show heart damage were steadily elevated during the day. Other than a CT to rule out a thoracic aneurysm (negative), I was not seen ever again by a physician for the entire day. Only a nurse checked on my pain levels which were exactly the same on entering the hospital. My cardiologist was in the same building and never called. At 5 pm a "hospitalist" saw me for 1 minute and said that they were going to admit me overnight. His physical exam consisted of 3 pounded fists on my back and a quick listen to my heart. Any ER physician should check their patients during the day-no excuse. I was certain that I would not have had a heart attack if my cardiologist (in the same bldg) was consulted. ps had 2 stents and damage....
