Dr. Greer treated me multiple times in the ER while I was suffering from an open abdominal injury that ultimately required 3 surgeries. He dismissed my concerns about infection and pain and assured me that the wound looked fine on several occasions. Ultimately I underwent 5 surgeries. One to remove my ovary and 4 to manage recurrent infections. I continued to explain that I was I. Pain, my wound was draining and smelled foul but he never took me seriously. The notes he wrote about me implied I was intentionally making my wound worse, was after drugs or attention seeking, that I was medically illiterate, and all together just wasting his time. It would come to light that the doctor who removed my ovary in the beginning used dissolvable internal stitches, but they never dissolved. Instead they imbedded in my abdominal wall and scarred over creating a perfect home for bacteria, viral agents, and microscopic foreign bodies to become lodged and multiply. I saw him multiple times and he gave me multiple CT’s. But despite all of that and my very obvious pain he chose to assume my visits were somehow nefarious. If he had done his job to begin with I wouldn’t be trying to climb out of a years worth of medical interventions, debt, pain, depression, and the infuriating realization that this all could have been avoided if Dr. Greer had take me seriously. If you see this man, run, do not walk, to another provider. His laziness and inability to think outside the box could cost you even more than it cost me.
