I met Dr. Gillette in the hospital as a secondary physician in treating my mother who is 89. She was confrontational & argumentative. She demeaned the other treating physician stating that he did not know what he was talking about and that her opinion was accurate. I have never encountered a physician so willing to walk into a room knowing why she has been requested only to start a conversation with the family with an unnecessary argument. She lacks compassion and exhibitions poor communication skills preferring to express her superiority not only over the patient and family but also over the (not present) attending physician. We all felt very uncomfortable after the encounter and did not feel she provided us with the opportunity to discuss concerns. We were thankful we had the support of other hospital staff and the attending physician.
