Patient Reviews
Feb 23, 2026
I chose Dr. Robertson based on positive reviews describing her as an amazing doctor. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I felt treated like a number rather than a patient. She lacks empathy and compassion in her approach to patient care. After experiencing congestive heart failure following childbirth, I know firsthand how critical it is to have a good physician and person, especially in high-risk situations. I was fortunate to have an exceptional medical team in MA, and I truly hoped to find that same level of care and professionalism with her. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I can’t trust her, given the way I was treated. My appointment was scheduled for 2:00 PM. This was my first visit, and I had waited months for it. I drove from Encinitas, arranged childcare, and planned my day around this appointment well in advance. I arrived 30 minutes early, but the location instructions in the text message were unclear. Parking was limited, and I initially went to the wrong building (second floor, urology and sports medicine). A kind nurse noticed I was lost and directed me back to the elevator to a different building. Once in the correct building, it was still very confusing to locate the front desk. I walked around trying to find it, and another patient nearby was equally confused. At one point, I entered the wrong door and was redirected again. By the time I finally reached the correct check-in desk, it was 2:10 PM. There was one receptionist assisting another patient. When it was my turn to check in, it was 2:15 PM. I was then told I would not be seen because I had passed the check-in time limit. The receptionist had seen me enter and wait in line. I politely asked for flexibility given the circumstances and the confusing layout of the facility. She was not accommodating but said she would ask the doctor. After several minutes, she returned and asked whether I had completed first time patient paperwork. I had never received any email or communication indicating that paperwork needed to be completed beforehand. I was then handed six pages to fill out. Shortly after, another staff member informed her that the doctor would not see me because I was taking too long to complete the forms. Yes, I understand that I was slightly delayed reaching the desk. However, I arrived early and made every effort to check in on time despite unclear directions and a confusing facility layout. To be dismissed under those circumstances, felt dismissive and deeply unprofessional. I am grateful I saw the culture of this practice now rather than during a pregnancy when continuity of care would have been critical.
