I went into to see Dr. Allen for a Taylor's bunion. I was taking notes as I usually do regarding various questions I had and the advice that was being given to me. The course of treatment was for her to apply acid to burn off the callous, custom orthotics and possibly surgery. I was never counseled to wash off the acid after 8 hrs. I went in on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. By Sunday, my foot was hurting more than when I originally went in. By the time I called Tuesday to ask what to do, a med tech (not the doctor) called to say that I should wash off the acid. Once I did it was amazingly better. I was NEVER told to wash off the acid (mind you I had taken showers). I mentioned my note taking because if I were directed to wash the acid off, I would have written it down. I since found out that custom orthotics are no better than off the shelf. I felt ripped off and poorly treated and I am fortunate that I have no permanent damage. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER.
