Last March, I went to St. Luke’s ER because I had excruciating pain in my foot and could barely walk. Dr. Poole was very busy that night and I know that because I spent hours in the waiting room before being seen. She did acknowledge the wait that I had and the way she did it made me feel like everyone else is more important. She expressed how exhausted she was and it showed. That should not have made me any less important as a patient.I knew I had stepped on some thing because I remember the night that I did. She made me feel stupid because she couldn’t see anything and she treated me as if I was medication seeking. After making another trip to St. Luke’s urgent care because the pain wouldn’t go away I was referred to Essentia Health, to a foot doctor. This amazing doctor found glass in my foot and it was surgically removed. For the first time in three weeks I felt like I wasn’t crazy. I hope I never see Dr. Poole again.
