Dr. Bagaria was told me that “healing my inner child” would heal my endometriosis and pelvic pain. Despite the fact that I only came to her for physical health care, she asked me increasingly personal questions about my family dynamics and mental health, and told me that I needed therapy and psychiatric care. This was completely unprompted and overstepping patient provider boundaries. Going to a gynecologist is already a vulnerable experience, and to be dismissed this way was unacceptable. I went to another provider after, and underwent surgery for my endometriosis. You know, the actual treatment for it.
