I have been a patient of Dr. Gopal since 2011. Early 40's and mortified that I can't control my bladder. After consulting with my gynecologist, I was recommended to go to Dr. Gopal. I remember my first visit where I began the journey of being educated as to my diagnosis. With my husband in the room, Dr. Gopal was thorough as he explained the level of prolapse and what can be done to correct it. Still feeling mortified, I told very few people which I look back now and say how silly it is, if anything it should be talked about more. Day of surgery, while scared, it was Dr. Gopal who stood next to me in the surgery room and to ease my mind, held my hand and told me everything was going to be okay. He gave me peace of mind and I appreciated his bedside manner. Post surgery I paid attention to the orders he gave to ensure I would not put at risk the surgery just performed. Three young children, not so easy but it is where you lean on others to help! I even gave up my heavy (Monty Hall ??) pocketbook as no heavy lifting means no heavy lifting! Dr. Gopal gave me back my dignity and quality of life through this surgery. I continued to see Dr. Gopal on and off through the years as a check-in. I started experiencing a different issue in 2023 where yet mortified again, at times I can’t control my bowels. After a consultation and test, I underwent surgery back in February and here I am 6 months later, having followed all the rules to recover and committed to the Emsella Chair treatment. Let’s give a shout out, Dr. Gopal, to the rescue again! I recently reminded him that his focus on improving the lives of women is essential, his skill top notch and that I am forever grateful for improving my quality of life twice. Thank you, Dr. Gopal, for being your Awesome, Authentic, Urogynecologist self.
