This past Friday night, I called to book an appointment for 11 AM Saturday. I was told they accepted my insurance and that there would be a $250 emergency fee to have a weekend appointment. After booking the appointment by phone, I researched a bit more into this business. Behind all the positive reviews, there were some recent negative reviews that had me concerned. Additionally, they have an F rating with the BBB. Not wanting to be oversold, overcharged, and possibly ruin my teeth, I decided to cancel my appointment. 20 minutes after receiving their confirmation text, I called and texted back to cancel my appointment. I was told that the usual cancelation fee was just the $250 emergency fee mentioned above. I canceled anyways as I didn't want to give them more money or risk my dental health. Turns out that they charged me $500 that night. I assumed this was a hold of some sort for the appointment, but after speaking with my bank, they did in fact immediately charge $500.
