Had an appointment to request my son be tested for lupus. Dismissed all of his symptoms. Said rash in his body was dry skin and couldn’t be lupus because it’s not on his face. Ignored the fact he has some hair loss. Said his frequent headaches he gets especially during the summer were normal and the heat affects us all. Told her he has been having unexplained bruising all over his body for over a year. When she saw some bruises on his arm she said it was from him being grabbed. Insinuating we were abusing him. I tried to show her pictures of the bruises and she didn’t want to look. The whole time she wouldn’t let me finish when I tried to explain my concerns. I walked out crying because I couldn’t believe this woman. Instead of getting help to figure out what’s wrong I got accused of abusing my son. Her excuse for not wanting to test for lupus was that they were “unspecific symptoms, lupus test sometimes comes back positive and medí-Cal probably wouldn’t pay for it anyways”
