Dr. Hogan is the physician every family hopes they’ll find when their loved one’s life hangs in the balance. My sister has a rare kidney condition with repeated infections and complicated calcium-phosphate stone disease. Most doctors treated her case as “too complex” and simply reacted to emergencies. Dr. Hogan did the opposite. She studied every detail, investigated the root causes, and fought not just to treat the crisis, but to protect the kidney that’s left.She listens with empathy, explains options clearly, and doesn’t hesitate to ask questions that go beyond the obvious. She collaborates with different specialties and challenges conventional thinking when it means giving her patient a better chance. With Dr. Hogan, we didn’t feel rushed or dismissed — we felt like partners in a strategy to preserve organ function and long-term health. Mayo is world-class because of physicians like her.
