Patient Reviews
Mar 10, 2023
Dr. Monte performed my double mastectomy in 2016. I stated multiple times that I would not be doing reconstruction and wanted to remain flat after my surgery. While performing the surgery, Mark Monte decided to “leave extra skin in case I changed my mind”. He told me, after my surgery, that he did so. This is the opposite of what I wanted and my chest looks terrible today. I have a “mini boob” and a weird, flappy, saggy baggy elephant pooch of skin. I had hoped that it would shrink up over time, and it did shrink a bit. However, compared to other women that used other surgeons, my chest looks terrible. Had Dr. Monte listened to me and not decided to go directly against my wishes, I’m certain my end result would have been better. I never wavered or hesitated about wishing to be flat after my surgery. I was adamant from day one that I would not be doing reconstruction. There was no valid reason for him to override my wishes.
