Dr Bouffard forced tapered me to a high dose of buprenorphine after the DEA shut down my wonderful and caring pain management doctor. I knew little about bupe but gave it a try. If I asked questions, he was hostile and condescending. He told me 'I was his only choice.' Buprenorphine caused acute liver toxicity in me. After being hospitalized once for it, he increased my dose higher! I had to stop abruptly and went through a horrible detox after my second hospitalization. It was worse than coming off oxycodone which was tame compared to bupe. I lost over 20 lbs and had zero support. He also pushes ESI's to get help. Save yourself from the nightmare I lived. PS It also destroys your teeth. I broke a crown from a dental implant. Bupe is known to cause mouth trauma
