Dr. Hofbauer repaired the Achilles tendon on my left foot four years ago, and subsequently moved his practice to Wheeling; I was so impressed with him that I returned (despite the distance) this fall to have him repair the other Achilles. In both instances, he had to detach the tendon, debride it, shave down a bone spur on the back of my heel, and reattach the tendon. He was clear about the procedures and took the time to explain why surgical intervention would be necessary. He is professional, competent and thorough. If it weren't for Dr. Hofbauer, I would be unable to enjoy my favorite leisure activity: hiking.
