About 6 years ago I had a shoulder replacement. My orthopedic surgeon recommended that I take a pre-med (amoxicillin) before dental work. The fact that I had my spleen removed some years ago was a factor in that recommendation. Having been a patient of Dr. Olbina for over 20 years at the time, I talked with him about the pre-med need, his office consulted the orthopedic and Dr. Olbina started giving me a prescription for amocicillin. Dr. Olbina has just suddenly refused to issue a a prescription for the pre-med. After over 25 years, I was forced to find a dental practice that cares about my overall health.
