My teenage son and I were visiting Florida for a soccer tournament. My son awakened in pain and we immediately found ourselves in an emergency situation. Upon arrival at Sarasota Memorial Hospital every medical professional was helpful, in particular Dr. Perry, RNs Candice, Sandra, Sharon, (and night nurse from NoVA- I can't remember her name), and Dr. Patel. Dr. Perry arrived, immediately reviewed test results (almost immediately taken upon admission), manually addressed the injury possibly saving the body part, and then took him on a stretcher via elevator to the operation room. He quickly educated my son and I about the medical issue and pending surgery, comforted us (admittedly I needed it more than my son), and performed 1.5 hr surgery. We spent the night at the hospital for observation, flew home the next day, received positive feedback from two pediatricians and later another urulogist, and Dr. Perry then called me inquiring about my son's progress.
