I went to see Dr. Santa Barbara after a previous sports medicine doctor told me my case was too complex and they needed someone who looked over the whole body rather than just one area. Immediately after meeting the Dr. Santa Barbara he told me to pick one issue. I had explained that was not why I was referred to him but he did not seem to care. Very bad bed side manner; interrupting, invalidating and condescending. My knees are very visibly knocked kneed which could be caused by my knee alone or by hip and ankle issues. Dr. SB moved my knees around and said im fine. Even told me to disregard hyper mobility issues pointed out by my rheumatologist. When I had asked if there were no issue with my knee why was I in physical therapy as a child specifically for knee issues? He proceeded to ask, “is there a question?” Yes sir I do believe my last sentence ended in a question mark. Overall did not feel heard or that this doctor cared to learn more about my situation.
