I have struggled for 15 years with endometriosis symptoms and have had numerous doctors throw bc at me. Dr Kemper was the first person to listen to me and wanted to do surgery. I was so excited to finally be out of this pain and have someone listen to me. She assured me she was capable to perform this surgery and confident she could help me. When I got out of surgery, I found out that she only had me open approximately 15 minutes and “extensively examined” all of my organs and found no endometriosis. When I kept asking what my debilitating symptoms are from, the only answer over and over was that my iud she inserted during surgery would fix it all. She continued to gaslight me and my boyfriend how amazing it was that I don’t have endometriosis while I cried. After suffering from severe depression and anxiety after this surgery, I asked for a referral to an endometriosis specialist. I was met with a backhanded letter that my insurance wasn’t going to accept to cover. I met with the endometriosis specialist and brought in the pictures dr Kemper had taken during my surgery, and he instantly pointed out numerous spots of endometriosis. Now, I wasted 3k out of pocket to see dr Kemper for her to perform a surgery she was not capable of performing, and have to pay for another surgery, take more time off work, and suffer through another surgery. Not to mention the extra pain I’ve suffered since September due to her negligence and incompetence. I’ve attempted to contact Sanford patient advocacy, but they naturally find no wrong doing and I’m out 3k. On a 15 min surgery. Shame on Sanford, and dr Kemper for putting patients through procedures they aren’t skilled to perform. And not standing for their patients. Please, if you feel like you have endometriosis save your time and money and go to an actual specialist.
