On or about the first week of December 2024, I called to make an appointment with Dr. Aurbach. I had been there once before for medication but, it had been over a year since my last visit and my prescription was running out. I was given an appointment to refill my prescription for today, January 3, 2025 and was told that they would obtain the necessary referral for my insurance from my primary care Dr. or would inform me if they had any issues in obtaining the referral before today's appointment. To insure that the Dr. was prepared to see me and fill my important prescription, I called their office today and verbally confirmed their readiness to see me before leaving for today's appointment. I arrived for my 3:00 pm appt. about 20 minutes early, signed in, filled out some forms and waited. After 3:30 and almost an hour after my arrival, I was called up to the receptionist who first informed me that they 1) did not have the necessary referral from my primary physician, 2) never reviewed my file for the referral they claim they requested on 12/12, 3) never called me to tell me they hadn't obtained the referral before the appointment and, again, 4) I learned all this after my call, on the day of the appointment, during which they again failed to inform me that the Dr. would not see me today, causing me an unnecessary hour's drive to and from the doctor and an hour waiting on the office to be called! When I ultimately got someone other than the rude, clueless receptionist to speak to (and that only after I refused to leave without an explanation for these events, much less an apology which I didn't receive) I was told that they had failed on all accounts and their medical asst., who overheard my story, agreed that she would be equally upset, '...were it her". A physician is only as good as their support staff and, in this case, Dr. Aurbach and Florida Spine Associates have failed miserably. Whether Aurbach is a good doctor is not at issue here. The issue is why I will never see him again, because I won't return for such careless treatment and disregard for my time and, to add insult to injury, not so much as a simple apology. I write this, not for Aurbach and staff, for they clearly care not, but for you, so that you may avoid the aggravation I experienced and not waste your time with these incompetents!! If they don't care enough to treat people with decency, they do not deserve your trust with your welfare and certainly not your time and money. You've been warned.
