Performed my routine c-section for a breech birth. While on the table, after newborn sent to nursery, proceeded to have a long conversation with nurses about funny ideas for a sports bar. Very surreal; like I wasn't even there, and certainly like I didn't just give birth. Only had one other encounter after waiting a full day past my hospital release date, when he came into my room in L&D, hardly looked at me, and signed my papers to be discharged. Bedside manner was very lacking. Incision took a long time to heal, and years later, is still raised, red, uneven, has adhesions, and occasionally still hurts. Didn't realize how bad it was until I had a second c-section at a different hospital performed by an actual OB. That doctor remarked at the angry look of the healed scar incision, as well as inquired about its location, which is apparently unusually high and wide. If given the choice, schedule with a different surgeon, especially if for c-section (if he still performs them).
