was scheduled for a pap exam and as my husband and I were in the lobby I noticed a sign on the door stating that only the patient is allowed in the clinical area due to increased number of COVID-19 cases. I asked the ladies at the front desk if my husband could join me in the exam room if we wear a mask. They said that I would have to wait until I was in the exam room (AFTER paying) and then I could ask Dr Mike. I told them that I would not be having the exam without my husband present and asked if there was any way they could check with the doctor for me before paying. They said they would ask and had me wait back in the lobby. They then called me back up to tell me that I cannot bring my husband into the exam room as a COVID-19 precaution. Meanwhile nobody in the office is wearing a mask, and other persons besides the patient are already allowed in the lobby. So if they’re so concerned about covid, maybe start there. After leaving I called to speak with Dr. Mike and was told he was with a patient, which I’m not sure I believe considering I was supposed to be his patient at that time. They asked to take a message because he “won’t call you back if you don’t give him a reason”. When I told them I wanted to discuss why he wouldn’t allow my husband to come back with me during a vaginal exam, the woman on the phone informed me that Dr. Mike never said that he couldn’t. She reiterated the policy and said again that they said I could go back and ask him myself once the exam started. I got heated at this point and told them that I said that I would not be paying for services and before finding out that my husband could join me and that they TOLD ME TO MY FACE that they were going to go check with him and that HE said no. Now on the phone they just said they never even asked him because it’s their policy. How is that advocating for your patient? How is that acceptable patient care? They did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to address my concerns in office and did nothing to empathize or try to rectify the experience when I called them. They basically just assured me that I will NOT get to speak to Dr. Mike, so he probably doesn’t even know that any of this even happened. The communication is this office is horrible. My husband has had several negative experiences with the women in the front office and I should have known better than to even try to come here. I would give zero stars if I could. They obviously only care about your payment and not your needs as a patient.

I went in with my wife so that she could get a papsmear. Upon reading the sign that said no one is allowed into the exam room except the patient, my wife wanted to confirm that I could go back with her. The sign referenced covid, but there is also a mask requirement posted and no one, either patients or staff, ever has a mask on. She was then told that I will not be allowed back so we left. Clearly, we're already upset, but shortly after leaving, my wife called to speak with the doctor to try to understand the reasoning for the policy. That's when she learned that the reception staff never made the request to the doctor at all. We had made it clear that we weren't going to pay until we could confirm that I could accompany her, and I believe this upset them. They lied to my wife's face. I believe they do this kind of thing alot because they are trying to get you to pay before you can raise any concerns about unsatisfactory service. It's equivalent to theft. We won't be going back. I'm truly saddened that people like this are practicing medicine or are employed in healthcare. I hope they become better people.
