My appointment went left SUPER fast. Due to severe dental anxiety, I requested and been approved for nitrous oxide (laughing gas). I confirmed this accommodation again with the front desk upon arrival. After waiting an hour to be seen I was brought back for the procedure. I mentioned that I was nervous and reiterated my anxiety related to dental procedures. I mentioned that i was supposed to receive laughing gas. Dr. Michael said he wasn't sure about that to which I responded jokingly ' Its in the notes, guys' Dr. Michael responded with visible anger and stated, “Excuse me. What do you mean? It’s in the notes—you don’t speak to an oral surgeon that way.”Taken aback and embarrassed by this response. I calmly reiterated that laughing gas was documented and approved. As the assistant began placing the mask, the doctor again said, “Who are you to speak to an oral surgeon that way?”At that point, feeling unsafe and disrespected, I chose to leave the appointment without receiving care.
