I was in hospital for a scheduled gallbladder removal by Dr. Thomas Etter, who did a brilliant job, and Dr. Boyd was one of two doctors doing anesthesia for the procedure. I was laying in bed just minutes away from unconsciousness, when she came in to check my status, sat down and gave me some very comforting assurances. More importantly she told me that she had gone over my four previous ER visits' notes. These ER visits were unrelated to my gallbladder, and were basically a mystery to the 3 ER doctors. None of the ER doctors, nor my primary physician could give me any clues. I have a high tolerance for pain, and have only visited the ER once prior, when I was young man. Something has to be SERIOUSLY wrong for me to go to the ER four times, with follow ups with PCP in Cody, as well as Kalispell. Nobody could help me. Except Dr. Boyd. She shared with me an observation after reviewing my ER charts & notes. Small observation, absolutely profound impact a number of weeks later.
