This woman denied me a tubal ligation for 5 years because she told me I needed to think of my “future husband”. It did not matter that I stood firm for 5 years that I did not want to get married or have children. She asserted that “no doctor worth their salt” would perform this surgery on a childless woman under 30. She left the practice and my new doctor was 100% supportive of giving me the surgery I desperately wanted. The new doctor informed me that Dr Goldfarb had not entered a single note in my records about requesting surgery. I was also diagnosed with severe endometriosis during my tubal ligation. So not only did she deny my right to choice for years, she delayed a diagnosis for which treatment would change my life. Reproductive health is more than babies and I’m not certain Dr Goldfarb believes this.
