I arrived on time for my appointment and was turned away — while injured and on crutches — because the office claimed they “didn’t have my paperwork.”This is a foot and ankle clinic, yet there is no meaningful handicap access. I struggled through two sets of heavy double doors while on crutches, carrying a boot, and no one offered help or even stood up.Once inside, I was told they couldn’t see me because I was a “new patient” and my appointment was “right now.” This appointment was a hospital referral. The hospital already has my insurance, X-rays, name, date of birth, and medical information. The failure to transfer or retrieve paperwork is their administrative problem — not the patient’s.The staff were dismissive and rude, with no empathy whatsoever. I broke my foot on Thursday. It is now Monday, and instead of receiving care, my appointment was canceled and I was sent away.A medical practice that specializes in injured patients should not be this inaccessible, unorganized,
