I had to endure 2 molar extractions, sinus surgery, 2 bone marrow transplants, an implant, and a gaping hole where a perfect molar had been, all because of a routine crown that Dr. Rahim said I needed (for which I had had no pain or discomfort). During my appointment to get the temporary crown, my mouth was propped open for 105 minutes while Dr. Rahim jockeyed between patients in other treatment rooms. I left that day with a temporary crown and extreme pain. The following week, the crown was adjusted and I was told to wait 3 weeks for the permanent crown due to the ‘trauma’ in my mouth. When the permanent crown was put in the pain diminished only a little. I went to another dentist and was told that due to whatever trauma had happened, the crowned tooth, as well as the molar immediately next to it, were ‘resorping’ and would need to be extracted. It took 17 months for all the remedial work to be done, as well as $15K, lots of pain, and a lifetime of discomfort.
