Dr. Lackdawala will ignore your symptoms, laugh in your face, and insult you. Then he’ll lecture you about your manners. He’ll offer to help interpret your home ECG tracings, then when you take him up on it, tell you he doesn’t do that; he’ll only look at 12 L ECG and he’d be happy to order one. When asked to order one, he’ll say no because the home ECG he looked at (which were already reviewed by a GP, an NP, two cardiologists and deemed abnormal) are actually normal and therefore a 12 L ECG isn’t warranted. I don’t know what’s worse: is he trolling his patients deliberately or he’s not self-aware enough to realize what he’s doing. He’ll also lie about what your test results mean and even order unnecessary tests that couldn’t actually tell you anything about your health. I.e. troponin tests over a month after the episode can’t tell you anything about what happened. Dr. Lackdawala knows less about the female reproductive system than most 12-year-olds who recently took sex Ed. I’m embarrassed for him. The man is egotistical and combative. My second opinion (and third opinion, if you count a non-cardiologist,) is that Dr. Lackdawala’s advice on tapering heart medication was dangerous. My primary doctor left a note in my file stating that he fundamentally disagrees with Lackdawala and pulled me into his office for a thorough examination and to discuss a safer way to manage my medication than Dr. Lackdawala’s approach, which consisted of: telling me I can stop all my heart medication with no taper time line and it’s okay to ignore my symptoms because they are all benign. No other instructions were offered me. Lackdawala concluded our professional relationship by letting me know that standing up for myself (assertive and matter-of-fact but NOT rude) was inappropriate and pointing out his errors with reputable citations is also unacceptably rude behavior. I guess his lying, laughing, scoffing, whigning in front of patients & their families that the patient is wasting his time, & insults aimed at patients are okay, though! Don’t forget who holds the power, am I right, Doc? My other doctors told me to stop interacting with Lackdawala a while ago, but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. At first I thought he had a social disability or was possibly a savant or something. I would have been more than happy to work with a neurodivergent doctor so long as they were professionally competent, but unfortunately his problem presents as a simply audacious and arrogant oversized ego. Women (or any person with complex health problems) may want to tread carefully. This guy treats his patients like they are paint-by-numbers. Even if he were on Safari being trampled by zebras, giraffes, and impalas— he would still be frantically scanning the plains for the horses he’s certain are producing all the hoofbeats!
