I was assigned to Dr. Hussain to treat my cancer. The initial MRI came with recommendation of more detailed MRI of a right side to confirm the cancer spread in a certain area. The technician who read my initial MRI made a mistake recommending the right side as the MRIs are like mirrors. Dr. Hussain either made the same mistake or didn’t review my MRI and recommended the same thing.Luckily I went for a second opinion where the doctor caught the technician’s mistake and said that the suspicious spot was on the left side. He then recommended to have a closer examination of that side which confirmed the cancer spread. Should I have gone with Dr. Hussain’s recommendation the cancer would have not been detected in the healthy area and the cancer stage would have been wrong. I would have been receiving different treatments and the spread cancer would have not been addressed. I think it was not a light mistake and other patients should be aware of it.
