How likely are you to recommend Dr. Sundaram?
I had the worst doctor office experience ever with Aura Endocrinology. I moved recently from Seattle to NYC and was looking for a new endocrinologist. Based on the doctor rating, I chose to engage with Aura Endocrinology despite the negative office reviews. I called the office and was told that I would need to set up the patient portal before they gave me an appointment. I did that and they said they would call me to set up an appointment. I waited and when I didn't hear back, I called them. They then said I would need a referral to proceed. I was annoyed they didn't tell me that during the first call and a week had gone by. Still I continued to follow up and got a referral sent to them. I still didn't hear back from them so I called again. They claimed they did not see the referral. I went back and forth a couple times and then tried to make an appointment request in the portal. After 3 weeks, I finally get a call back only to be told that I first need to set up the patient portal. Frustrated, I let the man on the phone named Miguel know that I have already set up the patient portal, confirmed the referral was sent and now needed an appointment since my medicine would run out and the Seattle doctor could no longer refill without seeing me. Miguel then tells me that the first appointment he has would be in February. I am now frustrated as I have wasted three weeks with this practice and from the beginning I made clear that I would need to have the doctor see me so I can continue my medication as I didn't have any more refills. Miguel then tells me I can request a refill in the patient portal. I remind him I am a new patient and question whether I can get a refill for a prescription this doctor has never prescribed me. He then proceeds to explain to me in detail that since I am a new patient, I cannot ask for a refill and starts to define what a "refill" is. Frustrated, I interrupted him to let him know that I know that and therefore need to see the doctor before February. He then rudely tells me he will hang up the call if i ever interrupt him again. Miguel is an absolutely awful person to speak to since he has this high pitch tone that sounds like he is being pleasant but his words and actions are ridiculous and rude. I hope the doctor knows that he is not helping her practice and in fact lost her two patients (me and my wife). I hope Miguel only interacts with people who treat him the way he treated me.
