I went to North Memorial ER in extreme pain during a severe flare-up and left feeling humiliated and completely dismissed. Dr. Parrisa Delavari was cold, condescending, and unhelpful from start to finish.I was given oral NSAID, a single oral dose of narcotic,and half a bag of fluids — which did absolutely nothing. When I said I was still in pain, I was told no further treatment would be given because I have “chronic pain,” despite repeatedly explaining this was an acute flare, not my baseline.When asked what I was supposed to do for the next 36 hours, there was no answer. No plan. No alternatives. I was even told to “exercise and go for a walk.” I was crying at this point.The most shocking comment was being told not to come to the ER and that the ER is “for people who are going to die,” implying my pain didn’t matter because it wasn’t fatal.The nurses were amazing — kind and compassionate. This review is solely about the doctor.
