Fui referido al Dr. Tort por el Fondo del Seguro del Estado debido a una lesión en el hombro y brazo (tendinosis). Dos ortopedas anteriores habían decidido no intervenirme, pero el Dr. Tort me aseguró que atendería mi caso sin inconvenientes y aceptó realizar la cirugía.El día de la cita de preadmisión acudí con todos los documentos requeridos. Al llegar mi turno, el médico estaba conversando y bromeando con otros compañeros. Me tomó la mano, levantó mi brazo por un momento y lo soltó de inmediato. Cuando el brazo bajó por su propio peso, él levantó la voz diciendo que había ocurrido “un milagro”, lo que provocó risas entre los presentes.Acto seguido, me dijo que no me operaría porque, según él, ya no había problema. No hubo examen adecuado ni explicación médica. Me sentí humillado y burlado.El Fondo me reconoció incapacidad sin tratamiento y, hasta el día de hoy, continúo con calambres en el bíceps y el hombro. No puedo levantar más de cinco libras con el brazo izquierdo.
